Gradco’s Blanche Beach Sand Transfer project, carried out from June to August 2009, has been announced as the State Winner in Category 1 at the 2010 Tasmanian CCF Earth Awards ceremony in Hobart. With two projects named as successful finalists in the category, it was our Blanche Beach Sand Transfer project - a $920,000 project which involved excavating 215,000m³ of white quartzite sand from Blanche Beach, near St Helens, and transferring it to dune areas adjacent to the foreshore - which took home the honours.
